Weeell... Colin and Shaun met and an Eighth grade birthday party and became friends. Then, they started a band called Sincerely Me with Mark and Brian. Shaun was on drums. They started covering songs and then wrote some of their own. They put out some eps which included songs like lights, camera, action, and the piano song. After a while, Bumin Murray found them randomly on purevolume. He put their songs in some commercials. Club revolution remix was in a cell phone commercial (I forget which one!).
So then they're in high school, playing some shows in california, going on tour with HelloGoodbye, and writing songs for their first album Changes. They played perfect company on The Simple Life. Theeen, brian left the band so they had another fill in for him. Shaun switches to guitar and Dillan comes in on drums.
Oh hey, it's times for A Cursive Memory to graduate. Instead of going to college, they made the decision to sign with vagrant records.
Their cd Changes was released February of 2008 with their extremely catchy single "Everything." The video for Everything consisted of them running around LA and getting as many celebrities as they can into their video. This project was called Bandarrazzi. It took them six months to finish the video. After that, they made another video for their song "Perfect Company." For this, they went all the way to Alaska and put as many animals into their video as possible. This was known as "Band vs. Wild"
While they weren't making music videos or writing songs, they were touring. In early 08', they went on the Bamboozle roadshow with Armor For Sleep, Saves the Day, Metro Station, and Set Your Goals. ACM and set your goals covered Blink 182s "the party song during Set Your Goals' set. After that, they went on the road with The medic droid. Then they toured with some other bands, but their last tour was with Automatic love letter, and A Rocket to the Moon. During this tour, the Phoenix sow date was cancelled at last minute which made a girl named Rachel Cepeda very sad.
Now, A Cursive Memory is finishing up their sophomore album. So far, the new songs are "Ciao Bella," "The year," "Breathe," and another one that I can't remember. Their are two guests on the record; Jayme, and Ken Oak who is playing strings.
If you look on Imeem.com. you can hear older songs like "Mr. White," "I was wrong," Deal the cards," and "Lights, camera, action."
When they play live, they like to play covers. Some of the songs they have covered include "Such great heights" by The Postal Service, "Come clean" by Hilary duff, "A thousand miles" by Vanessa carlton, and "Disturbia" by Rhianna.
Mark is stage right, Colin is center, and Shaun is stage left.
